I get the feeling I am stuck in the "where did time go" idea

Well, time to snap out of it then. I have been studying the work of a few other photographers namely Neil van Niekerk and Zack Aria to name but a few.

Just to get some freash ideas and inspiration...Thanks Kevin for providing some cool links.

See here: http://www.zackarias.com/#/client/template.xml?aaa=home&bbb=

And here: http://www.planetneil.com/tangents/

Now to use the info and produce some worthwhile images...

It is August

So where has time gone?

I have recently spent my time pixel peeping, drooling over kit I can't afford and other insignificant things like changing brands and ...oh , yeah I have a day-time job which also asks for it's pound of flesh from time to time.

So basically I have been doing EVERYTHING BUT what I should have been doing...getting out there and making great images.

Please tell me there is someone out there somewhere who shares my pain...misery loves company you know.

Where does time go?

Looking forward to a wedding this coming weekend with a fantastic couple and an exciting evening ceremony.

Will really try to put more content on here...

A reflection on reinventing the wheel.

So, in this digital era, how does one keep his or her photography fresh and visually stunning?

What do you do to make stunning pictures of any subject matter without becoming a follower of somebody else's style?I have lately discovered the joys of playing with the strobist ideas and think that this is a great concept to explore in the new year.

The main thing to me is not to get hung up on gadgetry but to learn to work with whatever ambient light is available at the time and make a stunning image with that rather than blasting enough flashes at the subject matter.

So that is what I think we will be doing...dump all the pre-conceived ideas about lens sharpness at f/whatever, stop pixel peeping, chimp less while the perfect shots presents itself for those few fleeting moments and SHOOT WIDE OPEN...push the limits hard and far in 2009.

2009 is here!

Well, to be absolutely correct, the first week of 2009 is nearly over and we have hardly got used to the idea that 2008 is history...

Time to get some landscapes going.
